Jasper Roams is my independent travel and outdoor publication. It is built from journeys I have made, routes I have walked and the photographs and field notes I brought home.
Why this site exists
I wanted a place for travel writing that could be personal without becoming vague, and practical without turning every destination into the same list of things to do.
The result is a mix of detailed route reports, planning guides, wildlife encounters and smaller stories about places. Some articles answer a concrete question. Others begin with a single observation that stayed with me after I left.
Useful
Distances, transport, conditions and key decisions remain visible, but they support the story instead of replacing it.
Checked
Details that can change are checked against current official sources and dated. A recorded track or old timetable is never presented as a permanent promise.
Who is behind it
I am Jasper, a photographer and traveller with a particular interest in hiking, wildlife and journeys that work without a car. Switzerland is where I have built the deepest route archive; Alaska, Seattle and future journeys widen the publication beyond hiking guides alone.
The photographs on Jasper Roams are my own unless a source is explicitly named.
